Professional ExperienceGerald Van Dam has over 40 years of legal experience in the areas of real estate, criminal law, litigation, employment matters, divorce, family law, personal injury, and wills and trusts. He began his career with several years in private practice in the field of civil litigation. He then went on to serve as a Special Assistant Attorney Genera,l prosecuting eminent domain cases on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Continuing his public service career, Mr. Van Dam served for five years as an Administrative Hearing Examiner for the Rent Control Board of the City of Cambridge. In 1980, Mr. Van Dam founded the law firm of Van Dam & Traini, and in 2011, founded Van Dam Law LLP.
Mr. Van Dam provides expertise in family law, commercial and residential real estate matters, and complex civil litigations, with a strong record of success as both a trial and appellate lawyer. As an estate lawyer, he provides services in drafting wills and trusts.
